DM3™ Architecture:

DM3™ is comprised of three major modules (featuring IDC's proprietary SmartSync™ technology), which often reside on separate machines, but which may share machines with other modules:

1. IDC-dr™ ("Data Repository"), which acts as a central repository for documents.

2. IDC-dmc™ ("Data Management Center"), which acts as a document "router" by determining which documents are applicable to which nodes. Document Applicability can be set by the user using a Graphical User Interface (GUI). Access rights to documents reside in the IDC-dmc™ module. This "configuration management" function also serves to significantly reduce bandwidth due to the sending of only applicable data to the users.

3. IDC-drs™ ("Data Replication Store"), which acts as a "client" for documents and maintains local copies of documents that are applicable to it.
